Past Perfect Tense

The difference between the Past Tense and the Past Perfect

Past Perfect tense is used for the earlier past action already finished when another past action happened.

The first action is “cleaned the room”.

The second action “ got home”.

  • We form the Past Perfect with had and the past participle *.

  • We use the same form of the auxiliary had every time regardless the subject.
